Joining the ACS 6 years ago has seen David gain recognition for his documentaries, short films and music clips several gaining gold awards and recently the West Australian screen award (WASA 2014) for best cinematography long form for ABC factual series “Who’s been sleeping in my house?”.


David has been in the film industry for over 20 years starting off in London on Music video, TVC’s, Documentaries and Indy Features. Moving to Australia with a few trips back for projects to London has seen him join the ACS. David will sharehis work, and provide tips and tricks of the industry with a very real open session.

Award Winning Cinematographer

Dave is an award-winning cinematographer/director with a portfolio extending across documentary, TV and music, as well as a range of online and social content.


He has shot and directed for many of Australia’s leading production companies (Blackfella Films, Northern Pictures, CJZ), broadcasters (ABC, SBS) and youth media brands (triple j, Viceland). His recent credits include Director/Cinematographer on the flagship factual series Filthy Rich and Homeless, Cinematographer on the new season of Employable Me and Creator/Director of the wildly successful ABC series Throwback, which has had more than 8 million views.


He has been awarded a Young Walkley, an ACS Golden Tripod and has worked with Canon as an ambassador for their cinema cameras. He also directed Ice Cube for a video once which was pretty great.
